"I'm beginning to think that Sho is taking our relationship for granted." Jun said out of the blue one day.
"How so?" asked Ohno across the table from his usual reclining position where he was leaning heavily on Aiba. After a few drinks it was so much easier than trying to sit up by himself.
"Awwww. Is the Princess feeling underappreciated?” Nino added, momentarily halting his fifteenth attempt to teach Aiba a simple card trick.
He was the most sober of the four of them as the others were already three drinks ahead of him by the time he had arrived.
"Do you have an example of what you're talking about?" he asked as he snatched the cards back from a fumbling Aiba who was attempting to shuffle them but had only succeeded in dropping half of them in the unfinished remains of his plate of curry.
"Well, it's a feeling more than anything concrete." Jun replied, only slurring his words slightly "But sometimes when we are having sex, there's this thing I do to him with my tongue which involves a lot of effort and he just lies back and enjoys it but never recip-recopri-reciprocates. I mean, you have to work your tongue into..mmpph."
The end of his sentence was cut off by Nino hastily slapping his hand over his mouth. There was no way in hell that he would ever be able to sleep again if Jun managed to finish that sentence.
"Oh, I know that thing you're talking about. It's where you get your tongue and OW!" Aiba yelped as Nino kicked him hard in the shin.
"If anyone else mentions tongues, I will remove that persons tongue with my bare fingers and feed it to them." Nino said with a glare.
"I don't even know what they're talking about." said Ohno in a bewildered tone.
Aiba rubbed his shoulder consolingly while whispering "I'll tell you about it later. I can even draw you a diagram if necessary."
Ohno smiled drunkenly and snuggled even closer against the taller man as they resumed drinking in silence for the next few minutes, scared of annoying Nino any further.
"I just feel like Sho needs reminding of how lucky he is to have me." sighed Jun.
"Ha. Always so modest J." Nino snickered. "What you really need to do is make him jealous. You know he doesn't like to share."
"So true, last time I tried to steal a crispy prawn off his plate he stabbed me in the hand with his chopstick." whined Aiba, earning a consoling pat on the hand from Ohno.
"Right." Nino said, with a scary gleam in his eye. "Operation Jealous Chipmunk it is then."
"No fair. I always get to pick the name!" complained Aiba.
"Oi! Don't call my boyfriend a chipmunk." protested Jun, attempting to smack Nino on the back of the head and almost falling off his chair as his wild swipe missed its intended target.
Nino pulled out a pen and slid a napkin across the table towards him "Ok. It's going to work like this." he said as he began to scribble.
Jun and Aiba leaned in closer as he began to outline his plan. Ohno was already asleep, but they could always catch him up on his role later.
The planning continued until closing time, when they fumbled a group high five before going their separate ways.

The next day, when everyone had sobered up, Jun put a veto on their plan, which greatly disappointed his friends, especially Aiba who had been mentally designing their team t-shirts all morning.
“It was just because I’d had too much to drink. Sho doesn’t treat me badly at all really.” Jun explained trying to distance himself from some of the remarks he had made the previous night. He had the feeling that he’d told the others more than he’d intended to about his concerns regarding his relationship with Sho, but he couldn’t quite remember exactly what he’d said.
“Are you sure? Because don’t they say that alcohol brings out the truth?” asked a surprisingly perceptive Ohno considering that he had a horrendous hangover. “You aren’t just saying that because you’re afraid of upsetting Sho?”
“Of course not. Let’s just leave it. Ok?” Jun hissed as Sho walked into the room.
“Is everything alright here?” Sho asked, sensing a strange atmosphere.
Everyone hastily looked busy, mumbling various versions of “yes”.

But it was just a week later when Jun realized that perhaps Ohno had been right.
He was sitting at their dining table surrounded by a completely untouched meal that he had spent his only free evening of the week preparing and cooking. He’d blown out the candles when they had burnt down to the stub and had drunk most of the bottle of wine while he was waiting for his boyfriend to turn up.
The last message from Sho had said that he would be home by eight thirty at the latest, but it was now eleven thirty and Jun’s patience had evaporated at least an hour ago.
Just as he was about to go to bed Sho finally arrived, pecked him on the cheek and filled a plate with the cold congealed food.
“Aren’t you hungry?” he asked through a mouthful of pasta. Without waiting for a response he continued “Never mind, you can always eat the leftovers tomorrow night.”
“Why didn’t you ring me to let me know you were going to be late?” Jun asked frostily.
“I didn’t think that it was such a big deal. I know I should have rung you but time just got away from me. I just got really involved in what I was doing and forgot about dinner. It’s not like it’s a special occasion and you had to cook for yourself anyway, and since you enjoy cooking…..” his voice tailed off as he realized that perhaps he’d been more than a little thoughtless but he still looked completely astonished when Jun stood up silently and went to bed without saying goodnight.
When Sho came to bed twenty minutes later Jun pretended to be asleep even when he felt his boyfriend rubbing himself suggestively against his back. Giving up on the idea Sho rolled over and fell asleep almost immediately, while Jun lay sleepless for most of the night, once again wondering just how much Sho really cared about their relationship.
The next morning Jun lay in bed feeling much happier than he had last night. While Sho hadn’t apologised for missing dinner the night before, he had however woken him with a spectacular blow job before dashing off for an early interview.
But when Jun shuffled out to the kitchen shortly after and realized that while Sho had cleared the table and packed the leftovers into the fridge he had also left the dirty dishes from last night stacked on the kitchen bench near the empty dishwasher, and when he saw Sho’s dirty coffee cup from breakfast teetering on the very top of the pile he knew that Operation Jealous Chipmunk was back on.

It was impossible to miss the purple orchids sitting at Jun’s usual spot at the table in the dressing room as Aiba was sitting next to it batting a random blossom repeatedly away as it kept poking him in the ear as he sat reading his manga.
Sho, curious as to why someone had sent Jun his favourite flowers and more importantly how they even knew that he preferred them, searched through the overly large arrangement looking for a card with the name of the sender only to come up empty handed.
“They didn’t come by courier.” Aiba said without even looking up from his reading.
“Oh.”
“Apparently they were personally hand delivered.” Aiba continued, still deliberately not looking in Sho’s direction.
“How do you know? Did you see who it was?” Sho was wondering why Aiba was finding it so hard to meet his eyes.
“I couldn’t see very clearly, I just saw the back view of Jun-kun walking up the hallway with someone. He called over his shoulder that he would be back soon and told me to be careful to not knock the flowers off the table. The seemed to be walking pretty close together though and Jun was laughing in that giggly way he has when he’s really excited.” Aiba, suddenly realizing what he said, tried to backpedal. “I don’t think that it means anything though. After all he’s hardly likely to be won over by flowers. You give them to him all the time don’t you?”
Sho, who was ashamed to realize that he actually couldn’t remember the last time he’d given Jun any flowers suddenly found an excuse to leave the room.
Aiba smiled to himself as Sho rushed up the hallway in the direction that Jun was supposed to have headed. He pulled his mobile out and hastily typed a group text “Bait taken”.

Sho, had been unable to find any sign of his boyfriend or the mysterious visitor on his hasty trawl around the studio. When he burst back into the room slightly out of breath a while later he was puzzled to find Jun standing calmly behind Aiba looking over his shoulder at the manga. Ohno and Nino were leaning against each other on the couch in their usual position, obviously not listening to Aiba who was reading random bits and pieces aloud and looking annoyed that they didn’t find it as interesting as he did. The flowers were nowhere to be seen.
Jun looked up him with wide eyes asking “Are you Ok? You seem to be a bit out of breath.” he walked over and pressed his hand to Sho’s forehead “No fever, so that’s good. Shall I get you some water?”
“What happened to the flowers?” Sho asked feeling very confused
“Oh, you mean the orchids?” Nino replied “They were delivered to the wrong dressing room by mistake. An assistant came and took them away a few minutes ago.” he finished, glaring at the others as if to challenge them to disagree with him.
Aiba seemed to be about to say something but stopped when Jun shot him an unreadable look, both of them blushing and looking uncomfortable for the briefest of moments.
Ohno broke the tension by standing up and announcing that it was time for them to go to rehearsal. The others loudly agreed and rushed out of the room leaving a confused Sho standing and staring at the spot where the flowers had once been.

"Jun? Where are you?" Sho said pacing around the apartment talking into his mobile "There's nothing to eat at home and I can't find my green shirt. Babe? Ring me back when you can."
Jun hadn't told him that he would be home late. As a matter of fact for the past week it had almost seemed as if his boyfriend had been avoiding him. Something that he'd put down to his overactive imagination until he'd come across Jun a few times whispering secretively into his phone and immediately hanging up when he approached.
Since Jun wasn't answering and had left him no hint of his whereabouts he decided to go to the man who knew everything and would be happy to reveal certain helpful facts when required - but only for a price.
"Nino? Dinner? Usual place. Of course I'm paying.” he walked to the door as he talked, grabbing his coat on the way "Great, see you in half an hour. Um, by the way have you spoken to Jun tonight? Nino? Nino are you still there?" That was odd. It was almost as if Nino was deliberately avoiding the question. His suspicions were now fully aroused. He was beginning to have a bad feeling about what Jun was up to.

"Nino." Sho sighed as the waitress brought out two more dishes "There's no way you can possibly eat all of that food."
"True, but when I take the leftovers home later I won't have to buy any food for the rest of the week." Nino replied as he delicately nibbled on a morsel of chicken.
"With the amount you eat, there's no way you can get through all of this in a week."
"Well duh, I know you don't know how to look after yourself, but surely even with your limited housekeeping skills you know what a freezer is for." Nino snarked as he signalled the waitress to bring him another drink.
"What do you know about my housekeeping skills?”
“J is one of my best friends and he tells me stuff.”
“Complains about me, you mean?”
“No, he doesn’t. He’s stupid that way. He always puts up with however you treat him, even when you’re really selfish.”
Sho was starting to get angry now “So you think he’d be better off without me?”
“I don’t, because he’s as stubborn as he is stupid and he will stick by you no matter how indifferently you treat him. Plus if you two split up his heart would shatter into so many pieces that it would never be whole again and I don’t think that I could cope with that. So even though someone else may be offering him a more attractive alternative right now I still think he will be happier with you in the long run.”
Sho couldn’t believe he had heard Nino correctly “Did you just imply that Jun is cheating on me?”
“Of course not. I’m simply saying that other people might have the impression that he is emotionally vulnerable right now and think that they can take advantage of that.” Nino replied dangling possibilities in front of Sho’s eyes.
“So you know where he is tonight then?”
“I believe he may have said something to Aiba about having dinner with an old friend.”
“Would that be the “old friend” who gave him the mystery flowers? The one he’s been whispering on the phone to all week? And is he planning on fucking this “old friend” to get revenge for me being a bad boyfriend?” Sho asked, downing his drink in one gulp, not hungry any longer.
Nino sighed; this whole plan seemed to be spiralling out of his control, they only meant Sho to be more attentive to Jun, not split them up. “Look. I’m sorry. Don’t listen to me. I don’t know what I’m talking about. I’m the worst person to offer advice about relationships. I only know that Jun has been sad lately and feeling a bit neglected.”
“We’ve both been really busy, but I’m not the one flirting with other guys.”
“Sho. Don’t you dare to try and make out that this is all Jun’s fault.” Nino replied his eyes flashing angrily. “How about I get Leader to talk to you about this? He will know better than me what’s going on in Jun’s mind. You know those two are weirdly close.”
“Ok” Sho mumbled, jealous visions of Jun in bed with someone else running through his head. He’d known that Jun had seemed a bit brusque with him lately but he didn’t think that things between them were as bad as that.
++++
Jun was sitting curled up in a tiny ball in the corner of the sofa when Ohno walked into dressing room.
They were both early; Jun because he was avoiding Sho who kept following him around with a suspicious look on his face and glaring at anyone who tried to talk to him and Ohno because he had received an emergency call from Nino. Nino had been worried that his plan wasn’t as foolproof as he thought it was and had asked him to step in to try some damage control.
Aiba in the meantime was trying to keep out of the way of everyone as he was for once sensibly afraid of making things any worse. Personally, Aiba was blaming Nino for everything as he was the one responsible for naming the operation so somehow it had to be his entire fault.
“Jun” he said softly as he sat carefully down beside him.
Jun looked up; his face streaked with tears and wordlessly flung himself on the older man. Ohno held him tightly stroking his hair until he’d calmed down a bit.
“What have we done? Sho doesn’t trust me anymore. He thinks I’m cheating on him with our pretend mystery man.”
“I’m sure he doesn’t really believe that.”
“I just wanted him to think about what our relationship really means to him….what if he really doesn’t care…what if it gives him a perfect excuse to dump me?”
“Now, you’re just being silly. You know that he loves you.”
“What if he’s just keeping me around to do the cooking and cleaning? What if I’m just a maid that has sex with him?” Jun asked; his breathing quickening as he became even more agitated.
“Jun, don’t make me have to slap you for getting hysterical, or even worse have a mental picture of you in a maid’s uniform having sex.” Ohno said, trying to cheer his youngest band mate up.
Jun laughed and managed a watery smile pulling away from Ohno’s embrace when he heard Sho’s voice in the hallway. He bolted into the bathroom to wash his face while Arashi’s leader made a date with Sho to talk about the problem.
++++
It was finally time for Ohno’s part of the operation, but to him what had started out to be fun had turned into something much more serious. He was worried that his friend’s relationship might actually be in trouble. As he had thought at the very beginning, Jun was seriously upset, and he was determined to make things better for him. He might not have always been the best leader but he had always taken his responsibilities towards Arashi’s youngest member very seriously.
He had invited Sho to have a few drinks with him so that they could talk things through in a more relaxed atmosphere.
“Sho.” Ohno said in a reasonable tone when they were on their second beer “You know that Jun loves you and would never cheat on you. But sometimes loving someone isn’t always enough. If that person takes the love that’s being offered to them for granted then sometimes the relationship can still fail.”
“And you think that I don’t treat Jun well enough?” Sho replied with a hint of anger.
“I didn’t say that. I can see that you love him unconditionally, but maybe that’s not enough. He needs to feel secure in your relationship and if you can’t offer him that reassurance then you may just be pushing him into the arms of someone who doesn’t take his love for granted.”
With a sigh Sho slumped deeper into his chair “I guess I have been letting things slip lately. When you’ve been with someone for a while it’s easy to just fall into a routine and let the romantic side take a backseat. It’s just really hard when I’m tired all the time and stressed from work.”
“That’s no excuse. Jun works just as hard as you and then he comes home and looks after the apartment as well. When was the last time you did any housework? Do you even know how to load the dishwasher or turn on the washing machine?”
Sho took another sip of his beer and thought back to the dinner that Jun had prepared two weeks ago that he hadn’t bothered to come home on time for and began to feel ashamed. He realized that if he didn’t want to lose the person who meant more to him than anyone else in the world something was going to have to change.
++++
Sho slammed open the door to their dressing room and marched across to Jun; grabbing him by the shoulders and spinning him around to face him.
Jun opened his mouth to speak but Sho said “Be quiet. I’m doing the talking, you just need to listen.”
Anger glimmered in Jun’s eyes, but he held his tongue, interested in what Sho had to say.
“I love you, all right? I may not show it all the time, and I’m a terrible boyfriend who sometimes takes you for granted, but deep down I know that I will love you forever.” Sho barked at him in the least romantic way possible.
The other three sat frozen to the spot as Sho pulled out a jewellery box from his jacket and opened it to reveal a white gold pendant with a charm attached depicting the letters “S” and “J” intertwined in such an intricate design that it would be indecipherable to an outsider.
He reached and fastened it around Jun’s neck saying in a much softer tone “I want you to wear this at all times unless you need to remove it for work. I may not always be able to be by your side, but as long as you are wearing this, you can be assured that you will always have my heart, my support and my undying love.”
Jun could only nod his agreement feeling completely emotionally overwhelmed, tears welling in his eyes.
Sho continued “Believe me when I say that I will try my best from now on to be a better boyfriend to you. I know that I have been neglectful of you lately but I promise to try harder and stop taking everything you do for me for granted. I don’t want to push you into the arms of another as I almost have now.”
“Right.” Sho said, turning to his stunned band mates “Now that’s been established I am taking my boyfriend home to bed where I plan on spending the entire night showing him in as many ways and as many different positions as possible exactly what he means to me. Any objections?”
All he received in response was a variety of stunned expressions, the most dazed of all belonging to Jun who couldn’t believe that this was the normally reserved Sho speaking.
Taking their silence as agreement, Sho grabbed Jun by the hand and dragged him to the door, pausing only long enough to kiss him thoroughly, stealing his breath away while squeezing his ass hard enough to make him moan against his lips.
Jun just managed to give them a quick thumbs up as he disappeared around the doorway, Sho’s hand now possessively wrapped around his waist.
After they had gone, the other three shared a look of utter astonishment and a growing sense of accomplishment. Nino and Aiba grabbed each other’s hands and began bouncing around in a circle of triumph in the middle of the room, dragging a very relieved and slightly reluctant Ohno up to join them.
When they had managed to calm down a bit Ohno glared at this band mates saying “I hope we’ve all learnt something from this near disaster.”
“Yep, I sure have and I hope you guys have too.” said Aiba excitedly “I told you that things go wrong if I don’t get to pick the operation name. So next time remember to ask me first and everything will work out just fine.”
“And I’ve learnt that Jun will be so grateful after this and so loved up that he won’t be able to refuse me anything for at least the next three months.” Nino said with a vision of unlimited freebies floating through his head.
Ohno could only groan feebly and collapse back down onto the sofa with his head in his hands knowing that this was a conversation he so didn’t want to get involved in.

Date: 2016-04-21 07:59 pm (UTC)My spot!! ♥ Can't wait to read it!!I love this so much!! Thanks for writing this for me ♥ (Now the story I've written for you seems to be so lame ><)
First of all the drunk night out was sooooo cute and fun. I love how Aiba is so overly excited and how he is disappointed that Nino chose the operation-name (and also the talk at the end between the other three. Buahahhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa, poor Riida :D )
I can totally feel for Jun here. I mean, he tries hard and it feels like he doesn't get anything in return. On top of that he works too and his schedule is loaded too, still he tries to cherish the time with his boyfriend. I guess Sho might be the guy who needs a little push to understand things in a relationship :D (I totally picture him as that guy)
Woah....when the plan backfired and Sho got really mad and believed Jun would cheat on him. I'm glad Nino immediately reacted and told Ohno to intervene. Jun crying :-( Ohno is my personal hero here.
Sho's confession is the best. *LOL* I can totally imagine him spatting out a I love you, forever - got it, you idiot!? Even though it's delivered so badly from him... it's also cute. And the necklace ♥
LOVE THIS!! <3

Date: 2016-04-22 11:34 pm (UTC)I agree, I think that sometimes Sho might be the one who needs a diagram to help him to understand how a relationship is supposed to work. On the other hand maybe Jun should have just told him his feelings directly without involving the others and making the whole thing into such a big drama (but then it wouldn't have been so much fun).
It must have been quite an ordeal for Sho to talk about his feelings in front of the others, which is why he was even more awkward than usual, but this way he can't go back on his promises without the others coming down on him.
Thanks again for the prompt - it was an awesome challenge to complete.

My favourite was this line:
Aiba rubbed his shoulder consolingly while whispering "I'll tell you about it later. I can even draw you a diagram if necessary." *looooooooool* I really need to imagine this situation when Aiba is drawing this for Ohno *loooooool* :D :D :D
The end is really cool, Sho really gets his ass up and and I wonder how long they "stay awake" in their bedroom *pervythoughtson* :D
Thanks for sharing this one <3 <3

Sho is really possessive of Jun that he got easily jealous, but serve him right because he's been neglecting Jun recently.
The ending where Sho's proclaiming his undying love to Jun is so sweet as well as the necklace

Date: 2016-11-12 12:17 pm (UTC)But I have to say that Sho is a jerk. I mean I was quite mad when he said it's not a big deal for Jun if he didn't tell him or eat his cook. Jun handled his things very patiently and I was quite amazed. I would throw the pillows to Sho if I were Jun >:(
Nevertheless, thank you for recommending this fanfic ♡ I really like your writing, Le-chan! You should be proud of it ;)

Date: 2016-11-12 09:49 pm (UTC)Yep, Sho was being a complete idiot by taking Jun for granted.
It's a good thing that Ohno put him straight.
