Summary: Nino knew that by the tone of voice that Jun was using, he must be really mad at him.
A/N: Welcome to my random Arashi Christmas Drabbles - each under 1000 words long. How many there will be is also random – depending on my level of Christmasosity (and yes I still know that’s not a word, but I think it rolls of the tongue nicely).
"Nino!"
Nino knew that by the tone of voice that Jun was using, he must be really mad at him. There were so many things that could be the possible cause of his anger that it was hard to pick just one to feel guilty about.
"What, oh light-of-my-life have I done wrong now?" Nino called back. He always believed that attack was the best form of defense.
"Come here right now. What have you done to my bonsai?" Jun yelled.
There was no possible escape when Jun used that tone of voice, so Nino reluctantly dragged himself in the direction of the closed-in balcony where Jun's beloved trees lived. Nino personally found them more than a little creepy and he wasn't exactly pleased that his boyfriend had the hobby of a seventy-five year old grandfather either.
"What is the meaning of this?" Jun was pointing with a trembling finger at his most prized and expensive specimen.
The tiny pine tree was decorated perfectly with scaled down decorations that matched its size precisely. The miniscule strand of tinsel wrapped carefully around its branches was sparking in the light and the tiny baubles reflected Jun's astonished face many times over.
"You said that you wanted a Christmas tree this year so I got Oh-chan to make me these decorations," Nino replied, shuffling his feet and refusing to meet Jun's eye as if suddenly realizing what a fluffy gesture it actually was.
Jun was speechless as he looked at Nino in confusion; where had his snarky boyfriend gone? "But...I thought you hated my bonsai?"
"I hate them because they steal your attention away from my own magnificence. But I love you more than anything else in this world, and if they make you happy then I guess I'm willing to share," Nino replied with suspiciously red cheeks as he made a a rare confession. He had no idea why he was suddenly talking like a character in a cheap romance novel, but he didn't seem able to help himself. Personally he put it down to the close-fitting fuzzy sweaters Jun had been favouring recently that made him look so soft and huggable.
"Awwwww, you are so cute when you're embarrassed," Jun replied and made a move to ruffle Nino's hair.
Nino growled and ducked away, "I just decorated one of your weird little trees. There's no need to make such a big deal about it." By this time even his ears were a fiery red.
"Come here and give me a kiss," Jun laughed, making exaggerated kissy faces.
"No, get off me!" Nino tried to push Jun's lips away, but it was too late. He was trapped in the corner with no escape. Jun proceeded to kiss him until he felt himself melting into a gooey ball of need.
As he felt Jun's hand slide enticingly down inside his sweatpants to squeeze his butt while he whispered filthy promises in his ear, Nino thought that maybe the trees weren't as bad as he'd always thought.
