You're completely right. Sho thinks that he is doing all the right things because Jun hasn't ever told him anything different.
If Jun had found the courage to speak up then perhaps things wouldn't have gotten so bad
Jun needs to find the courage to stand up for himself. (Or perhaps just get someone to punch Sho in the face.)
