Random Arashi Christmas Drabbles 2 - Sakumoto

Pairing:  Sakumoto

Rating: G

Genre: fluff

Disclaimer: I own neither Christmas nor Arashi

Summary: “Merry Christmas,” Sho said as he stepped behind Jun, wrapping his arms tightly around his waist and kissing the side of his neck.

A/N: Welcome to my random Arashi Christmas Drabbles - each under 1000 words long.  How many there will be is also random – depending on my level of Christmasosity (and yes I know that’s not a word).

“That looks pretty bad,” Nino said, gesturing towards Jun’s bandaged fingers.

Jun scowled at him as he struggled to remove his coat without using his injured hand. “I was trying out some new special effects for our concerts next year with the staff and somebody decided that he needed to help.”

“I said I was sorry,” Aiba panted as he entered the dressing room carrying not only his bag but Jun’s as well.

“Sorry doesn’t fix anything. I wanted to cook a special dinner for Sho tonight and now look at me,” Jun growled, brandishing his singed fingers in Aiba’s direction.

“Perhaps Sho could cook for you instead?”

“First you try and blow me up and now you want to poison me? Christmas is officially ruined,” Jun said, as he stormed out of the room on the way to a meeting with his Manager, almost flattening Sho in the process.

“Jun? What?” Sho said as he peeled himself off the wall.

“We need to talk,” said Nino, patting the seat of the sofa beside him.

Jun blinked in confusion at the text he’d just received from Sho.

“You are cordially invited to my apartment for a Christmas picnic. 9pm. No need to RSVP just be there.”

When Jun opened the door, the apartment was in darkness except for a row of tiny candles that created a path to the bedroom.  The bedroom itself was ablaze with a hundred more candles, making Jun blink at the sudden brightness.

A picnic rug had been spread across the bed over the blankets. Sitting on top of that was a bucket of ice with a bottle of champagne nestled in it to chill.  Two champagne flutes were crossed over the bottle, their sides beaded with condensation as they also chilled to a perfect temperature.

In the very centre was a small round cake, obviously homemade. The white icing was lumpy and misshapen in places and thicker on one side than the other. A red and purple ribbon had been inexpertly tied around the entire cake with sprigs of plastic holly tucked into it in a random pattern. The top was covered with whole strawberries and shavings of white chocolate.

Surrounding the cake were tiny plates full of tasty nibbles of food. There were bowls of assorted olives, a plate of cubed cheese, thinly sliced rounds of salami and prosciutto and other antipasto items that Jun was too astonished to recognize.

“Merry Christmas,” Sho said as he stepped behind Jun, wrapping his arms tightly around his waist and kissing the side of his neck. “I knew that you would panic if I tried to cook, so I thought that a romantic picnic would be the perfect solution.”

“You did all this for me?”

“Of course,” Sho replied smugly. “I could see that you were hurt and I didn’t want you to try and cook.”

“You made me a cake?”

“I’ve never tried before, but it looks okay, don’t you think?” Sho asked nervously.

“You didn’t have to go to all of this trouble. We could have ordered in.”

“I love you. How could doing such a little thing for you at Christmas be trouble?” Sho replied, turning Jun to face him and capturing his lips.

"What kind of sponge is it?"

"Oh, you know," Sho replied modestly. "The usual kind."

Jun couldn't believe that Sho had actually made him a cake. Picturing Sho struggling in the kitchen trying to crack eggs and measure the ingredients made Jun's heart swoon.

“I have to try this cake,” Jun said, grabbing Sho’s pocket knife from the bedside table.

“No, don't cut it! Let’s drink the champagne first,” Sho cried as Jun sliced into the cake.

"Don't be silly, we've got to see what it tastes like - oh."

Taking the knife from Jun's hand Sho sighed, "OK, that's my cover well and truly blown. I'm terrible at cooking. But I do have other talents."

“Thank goodness for that. Don't worry, I'm still impressed. At least you remembered that I love strawberries. And this is definitely the first time anyone's ever decorated a bath sponge for me.” Jun laughed before he kissed Sho fiercely.
